Sample Brochure For Las Piedres Vineyards Among Southern California's promising new wineries, Las Piedras Vineyards (“the rocks” in Spanish), produces two outstanding red wines—a rich Syrah and a classic Sangiovese. The grapes are grown in a small vineyard that was hand-planted in 1992 by Steve Hagata, the owner/winemaker. The vineyard is located on the slopes of Palomar Mountain at 3,200 feet elevation above Warner Hot Springs, earning the South Coast appellation since 1997. Lush grapes are trucked from the hills to Temecula, where the award-winning winemaker crafts the wines. |
1999 Syrah Rich, complex, smoky and velvety, with a slight pepper on the finish, makes this wine sing when paired with spicy or hearty meals. 1999 Sangiovese Classically Tuscan, lean, creamy with a hint of berries and violets makes this perfect with Italian foods, or light enough to enjoy all day long. 2000 Syrah Redolent ruby color, all the richness of the ’99 with full fruit on the front and a wisp of smoke and pepper lacing it all together—a delight from start to finish. 2000 Sangiovese Consistency in winemaking produces more of this beautifully classic treat in the Tuscan style, rounded off with the subtlety of berries and violets. |
